Major publisher Activision has confirmed a July 8th date for the final special shareholder meeting to approve its merger with Vivendi's games division, with the combined company to form super-publisher Activision Blizzard.
The firm has filed a proxy statement "relating to the proposed combination of Activision with Vivendi Games, Inc., the interactive entertainment business of Vivendi S.A." with the SEC, and has begun mailing its stockholders to inform them.
According to an official filing from Activision on Monday: "A special meeting of stockholders of Activision, Inc. will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, to consider and vote on proposals to approve the transaction and related matters." The vote will take place at a Beverly Hills hotel, the Peninsula.
