Ahead of its E3 Media & Business Summit presentation due later today, publisher Activision has announced that with over 8 million games sold during its first quarter, it now expects sales for the year to exceed the $1.8 billion predicted in May.
The company said in May
that it expected $1.8 billion for the full fiscal year and $425 million in its first quarter alone, as it released the results of its fiscal 2007 year.
In that first quarter, Activision now says, it shipped more than four million units of Spider-Man 3
, two million units of Shrek the Third
, approximately one million units of Transformers: The Game
and more than one million units of Guitar Hero II
The publisher expects to announce the full results of its first quarter fiscal 2008 earnings results at some point in early August.
