Activision Nabs Molyneux's Upcoming Movies Title

Activision has won the exclusive worldwide publishing rights to Peter Molyneux new project, tentatively titled The Movies, marking the first time Molyneux has published away from EA.
The game is scheduled to come out on the PC and all consoles in 2004, and the agreement grants Activision the option to publish sequels and add-on products to the title. The deal marks a the breakup between the veteran game designer and Electronic Arts, which has published all of Molyneux's games going back 14 years to the original Populous. The Movies, currently under development by Lionhead Studios in Guildford, Great Britain, is slated for release in 2004. As described by the company, the game gives you the opportunity to run a Hollywood movie studio from the silent days of the 1920s, through the advent of new technologies into the present and beyond. The game puts players in charge of a Hollywood dream factory where they decide which movies to make and the stars to make them. The player selects the scripts, directors, sets and movie stars before shooting the action and watching their finished movie on opening night.
