Activision announced that it has acquired the worldwide rights to develop, publish and distribute interactive games for the PC and console based on the BBC-spawned gameshow.
The game will be rolled out internationally to coincide with the television show's sale to other countries by BBC Worldwide. The television program, a team-based trivia challenge that combines elements of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" and "Survivor", has received high ratings in the U.K. But whether it will be as successful away from British shores remains to be seen.
Outside the U.K., BBC Worldwide has sealed deals in the U.S. and in Australia. In addition, BBC Worldwide is working with BBC Production and local broadcasters to recreate the television series in France, Italy, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Turkey, Israel, Portugal and India.
