5th Cell's Next Project Will Use Valve's Source Engine

5th Cell CEO Jeremiah Slaczka confirms that the company's next project will use Valve Software's Source Engine and that more news is coming in the next few months.
Scribblenauts developer 5th Cell's next game will be built on Valve's Source Engine, says company CEO Jeremiah Slaczka, although the studio isn't yet providing details on the title itself. Speaking to consumer weblog Joystiq, Slaczka did not confirm what console the upcoming title would be for, and also did not mention any link between the Source Engine project and the Xbox Live project mentioned to Gamasutra in our interview last year. When questioned on when more information will be announced, Slaczka commented, "Hopefully we'll have something to show people in a few months." 5th Cell took home both the Best Handheld Game and the Innovation Award for Scribblenautsat this year's 10th annual Game Developers Choice Awards. It is slated to release Super Scribblenauts this October, which expands on the original by allowing players to assign characteristics to objects they create in the game.
