The organizers of the Games for Change conference have announced the third annual iteration of the event, which "brings together non-profits and their partners to explore the use of digital games to advance organizational mission and societal change." The event is taking place on June 27 and 28 at Parsons, the New School for Design in New York City. The event will feature a keynote address by Steven Johnson, author of noted bestseller "Everything Bad is Good for You", on the evening of June 27. Other event attendees include Persuasive Games' Ian Bogost, Parsons School of Design's Katie Salen, various designers from casual game developer gameLab, as well as representatives from both MTV and the U.N. Detailed coverage of the 2005 Games For Change event, which was held at the City University of New York from October 21 to 22 2005, is available in feature form on Gamasutra, for those interested in finding out more about last year's agenda. The organizers also noted that while the 2006 conference agenda is mostly in place, there are currently two open panel slots. Those interested in participating in a panel have until April 25 to submit an idea, along with speakers and session agenda. Interested parties can visit the event's website for more information.
