The final few assets from the bankrupt 3DO have been sold. Crave Entertainment has emerged as the winner in the bidding war for the Army Men franchise, settling on a price of $750,000. Meanwhile Jacked went to JoWooD for $90,000 and 3DO and EA founder Trip Hawkins bought the rights to a string of backlist games including Jonny Moseley Mad Trix and the Family/Vegas pack for $200,000.
Hawkins also bought a 3DO Internet patent for a concept involving the trade of virtual products, such as children's playing cards, for $205,000. Although almost all of the assets were sold 3DO’s lawyers have indicated that the results were “not as good as we hoped for."
