2K Games, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, has announced that it has gained control of Gas Powered Games'
Dungeon Siege series from original publisher Microsoft. The first two titles in the new arrangement will be
Dungeon Siege II: Broken World, an expansion pack for the dungeon crawler, and
Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony, a PSP entry in the franchise.
"We're excited to be working with 2K Games," said Gas Powered founder and creative director Chris Taylor. "We're expanding the Dungeon Siege universe on the PC with a new campaign and opening up even more new territory on the PSP system with a second, unique adventure that you can stuff in your backpack and take with you wherever you go."
"The Dungeon Siege series has always been known for its beautiful graphics and great single and multiplayer gameplay," said 2K Games managing director Christoph Hartmann. "2K Games is fully committed to expanding the franchise on PC and new platforms like the PSP system."
The PC expansion pack is due for release in the summer, with the PSP game scheduled for the fall. Both games will come out well in advance of
In the Name of the King, the upcoming
Dungeon Siege movie directed by schlockmeister Uwe Boll.
