Organizers of the Games Convention Developers Conference in Leipzig, Germany have announced that this year's event will take place August 20-22 at the Leipzig Exhibition Centre.
The three-day event will feature three separate program tracks covering game development, business, and science, and will include international keynotes, workshops, and panel discussions. In addition, the event will offer networking opportunities, as well as host multiple speakers representing the fields of computers, game consoles and mobile devices.
Specific speakers for the event have yet to be announced, however last year's event saw a keynote address
by esteemed developer Peter Molyneux, as well as presentations by Flagship Studios' CEO Bill Roper, Stormfront president Don Daglow, and others. Organizers note that the recent event saw attendance from 650 participants from 20 different countries.
GCDC organizers also announced the launch of a new website
address for the event, as well as a new motto, 'Upgrade the Future.' The new site will feature a news section, as well as video interviews and a new matchmaking feature to aid participants in planning their appointments for GCDC with other attendees and speakers.
“'Upgrade the Future' expresses the fact that we offer developers insight into the future, new technologies and business ideas," explained GCDC director Frank Sliwka. "This is only possible thanks to the outstanding support of the industry itself and we are proud of the trust placed in us over the past five years."
He added: "With GCDC as the most significant European platform for developers, we aim to continue to bring together and strengthen the European branch of the industry."
