Representatives from the Interactive Entertainment Institute (IEI) have announced further details on the 'serious games'-related G.A.M.E.S. Synergy Summit 2006. The event is due to take place at the Wyndham Orlando Resort in Florida on January 17th and 18th, 2006.
An acronym for Government, Academic, Military, Entertainment and Simulation, the G.A.M.E.S. Synergy Summit 2006 aims to address the convergence of interactive gaming, simulation protocols and the next generation of beneficial applications for interactive multimedia tools, techniques and technologies.
The summit will focus on collaboration in developing common understandings, identifying commonalities and differences, forging useful relationships, sharing knowledge and best practices, as well as looking to future developments.
In addition to last year's inaugural format that included the Welcoming Reception, Plenary Sessions, Technology Exposition, Networking Reception and Hospitality Suites Night, Working Groups and three Bridges, a fourth "Bridge" on Funding and Financing of Interactive Multimedia Projects has been added to the conference schedule as well as a "Demo Zone" where independent developers and small technology companies can show off their games and technologies.
The summit will also be hosting a pre-conference day on Monday, January 16th, with focused full-day workshops and the inaugural Martin Luther King Day G.A.M.E.S. Cross-Discipline Golf Outing. Further information can be found at the official G.A.M.E.S. Synergy Summit 2006 website
