2 Million More Households Own a Videogame Console

According to the Yankee’s Group recently completed Technology Advanced Family Survey, approximately 36 million households in the U.S. own a videogame console.
This figure is up from roughly 34 million the year before. The survey results indicate that while a significant portion of next generation videogame console sales is coming from households upgrading their videogame platform, the market is slowly continuing to expand. Families with children represent the majority of videogame system owners, with more than 80 percent of households surveyed with children ages 13 to 17 already owning at least one videogame system. On average, videogame households own 1.4 consoles per household.
