1C Announces Necrovision, Deathtrack Remake For NA

Russian publisher 1C has announced two new properties that it intends to bring to North America either independently or through its recent deal with Atari, including a remake of 1989 Dynamix combat racing title Deathtrack. Ahead of its showcase at this year's E3 Media & Business Summit, 1C has announced that it intends to bring The Farm 51's horror/FPS Necrovision to the U.S. The title is a WWI era shooter that takes a much darker turn to a "brutal underground world of vampires and demons" combining war scenarios with Lovecraftian horror, promising puzzles and huge boss battles. 1C has also announced that it will be showing Sky Fallen's remake of Dynamix's 1989 DOS title Deathtrack with Death Track: Resurrection. 1C says the title takes place in a dystopian future with violent entertainment such as the game's worldwide tournament "Survival Race" replacing traditional sports. Taking on the role of a rookie driver entering the race for the first time, players will win only by adopting an "end justifies the means" philosophy, eliminating enemies and becoming "a witness to great treachery." The two titles will join formerly announced titles such as Action Forms' Cryostasis, Katauri Interactive's real-time/turn-based fantasy strategy RPG King’s Bounty: The Legend, and Unicorn Games' Middle Ages-era RTS XIII Century: Death or Glory. Said 1C international sales director Nikolay Baryshnikov, “1C recognizes that die hard gaming fans love classic titles and is pleased to bring two franchises back to life. We will continue our strong tradition of innovative gameplay and immersive storylines with our newest group of titles for 2007-2008. Together with Atari, we would like to introduce our games to the American audience and invigorate multiple genres with our unique take on great gaming.”
