Ever-increasing stock of the Wii in the UK has seen hardware bundle
Wii Play jump to the top of the individual formats charts this week, with sales increasing by 87 percent. Although sales of
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games have fallen by 46 percent, the increased availability of the console has seen a new influx of Wii titles in the top 40.
Despite mixed reviews, first party Nintendo title
Donkey Kong: Jet Race (aka
Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast) has risen 16 places from its debut last week to enter the top 10 at number eight. Take-Two’s
Carnival Funfair Games moves up eight places to number 10, while
Mario Strikers Charged Football re-enters at number 19, and
Super Paper Mario reappears at number twenty-nine.
In the combined format charts
Burnout Paradise has remained at the top spot, despite overall sales falling by 13 percent. Xbox 360 sales have fallen more sharply though, at 16 percent to nine percent, with the PlayStation 3 version now accounting for 49 percent of all sales of the title.
Overall there are sixteen Wii titles in the top 40, followed by ten Nintendo DS games, six on the Xbox 360, six on the PlayStation 3, two on the PC and zero for the PlayStation 2 and PSP. The only genuine new entry of the week, though, is Xbox 360 exclusive
Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom at number 24.
