Publisher Electronic Arts will release a fully localized version of PC MMORPG Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
in Russia on February 5th with regionally-based servers and customer support.
Three editions and packaging options for the game will be available, including a bare jewel case (499 RUB, $16) containing the game and a key allowing for 14 days of gameplay; and a Limited Edition SteelBook version (899 RUB, $28) with the game, a Russian user manual, and 30 days of gameplay.
The Collector's Edition (2499 RUB, $79), limited to 5100 copies, comes with an exclusive Games Workshop miniature, a localized graphic novel, an art book, 30 days of gameplay, and additional in-game quests, items, and rewards.
A 60-day prepaid game card priced at 899 RUB will also be available for users with active WAR accounts. It wil come packed in a DVD box with a coaster for beverages.
Developed by Mythic Entertainment and released in North America, Europe and Oceania in September of 2008, Warhammer Online
sold 1.2 million copies and claimed 800,000 users as of late October.
The title is based on Games Workshop's tabletop game and its science fantasy setting. WAR features "Realm vs. Realm" game play that pits factional armies against each other.
"Everyone at Mythic Entertainment is honored and gratified each time we get the chance to bring the glory of WAR
to those who have yet to experience it," says Mythic Entertainment co-founder and general manager Mark Jacobs.
"In February, a whole new force of Russian recruits will join the ranks of Order and Destruction –- and it’s going to be fantastic."
