Publisher Eidos Interactive has announced that a "special version" of
Tomb Raider: Anniversary, the forthcoming PSP, PS2, and PC remake of the original
Tomb Raider, is currently in production for the Nintendo Wii with requisite motion-sensing upgrades.
As
earlier reported, the re-imagining of the original Core-developed
Tomb Raider, is being developed by Crystal Dynamics using an advanced version of the engine used for
Tomb Raider: Legend, which, according to Eidos officials, allows “all of the nostalgic environments from the original adventure to be envisioned on a much grander scale.”
No further details on the Wii version have yet been announced, such as specifically how the game will make use of the Wii remote or Nunchuck, though control changes have been promised.
