Nintendo’s
Super Smash Bros. Brawl on Wii has enjoyed a fourth week at the top of the Japanese sales charts, with 78,000 units sold, but a large number of new entries failing to prevent a fall in overall unit sales across the chart.
The highest new entry of the week is hardcore dungeon-crawler role-playing game
Etrian Odyssey II on the Nintendo DS, with 69,000 units sold on its debut.
Most of the other new entries this week are also relatively niche, from a Japanese market perspective, with a PSP port of Koei’s
Orochi Warriors the second highest new entry at number four with 47,000 units sold.
New at number five is what is the fifth entry in the
Harvest Moon series on the Nintendo DS, with a total of 45,000 units sold. At number six is the Wii version of
World Soccer Winning Eleven 2008 (aka
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008), with 36,000 units sold.
Capcom’s Western-focused title
Lost Planet enters the charts at number seven on PlayStation 3, with 23,000 units sold. Finally, the Western developed
Bioshock, published in Japan by Spike, debuts at number eight on Xbox 360 with 18,000 units sold.
