The release of THQ's Xbox 360 exclusive
Saints Row has finally broken the deadlock at the top, and much of the middle and bottom, of the UK sales charts after several weeks of inactivity.
It represents the fifth consecutive week at number one for THQ, after movie license
Cars, with
Saints Row becoming the second fastest selling Xbox 360 so far in the UK, just behind Ubisoft’s
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter.
The second top ten entry of the week is Electronic Arts’ latest ultra budget mini-expansion pack for
The Sims 2 at number five, with Eidos’
Reservoir Dogs overcoming an impromptu recall of the Xbox version, due to a disc printing error, to enter the top ten for the first time.
Other new entries outside of the top ten include portable
The Getaway spin-off
Gangs of London at number twenty-three and Sega’s critically lambasted
Let’s Make A Soccer Team! at number thirty-one. With a busy week of new releases next week, including
Dead Rising and
Test Drive Unlimited, the traditional UK summer games drought now seems to be officially over.
