Red Dead Redemption Leads UK Sales For Fifth Week

Despite declining sales, Red Dead Redemption remained at the top of the UK sales charts for its fifth week in a row, above leading titles Super Mario Galaxy 2 and 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.
Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption once again led video games sales in the UK, and Nintendo’s Super Mario Galaxy 2 and EA Sports’ 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa remained in the top three of the all platforms list, announced Chart-Track. The tracking firm’s data, which covers the week ending June 19, remained largely unchanged from last week, with no new titles making their debut in the top ten. Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and Activision’s Blur, however, reentered the all platforms list at seventh and ninth, respectively. Sales for leading titles such as Red Dead Redemption and Super Mario Galaxy 2 declined from last week, and 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa failed to surpass either title, despite a sales increase of 16 percent. Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands was the only other title that experienced increased sales this week. Two new titles, International Cricket 2010 and Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker, made their debuts in the UK sales charts, though neither made it into the top ten.
