This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending October 8th, highlight both to-be-released and already released games in a unique demand-specific chart. After holding on to the charts for three weeks, Valve and EA's forthcoming Half Life 2 compilation The Orange Box has displaced Halo 3 for the top cross-platform slot. Surprisingly, Master Chief's grip seems to have slipped even further, as Microsoft's own Project Gotham Racing 4 and Activision's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare knock Halo 3 into fourth place, just above newcomer Assassin's Creed. What follows is a breakdown of the top titles requested by GameFly subscribers across each of the major platforms: Xbox 360 1. Half-Life 2: The Orange Box (EA), 2. Project Gotham Racing 4 (Microsoft), 3. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Activision), 4. Halo 3 (Microsoft), 5. Assassin's Creed (Ubisoft) The Xbox 360 charts mirror the all-platform charts, with Halo 3 tumbling to fourth place behind The Orange Box, Project Gotham Racing 4 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, landing him just above Ubisoft's forthcoming Assassin's Creed. Nintendo Wii 1. Donkey Kong Barrel Blast (Nintendo), 2. Bleach: Shattered Blade (Sega), 3. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Nintendo), 4. MySims (EA), 5. Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo) Nintendo's own first-person hero Samus has seen a similar tumble to number three after seven weeks at number one, while Nintendo's dark horse (dark ape?) Donkey Kong tops the charts with the forthcoming racer Donkey Kong Barrel Blast. Originally planned for the GameCube's conga-control, the game has now been retooled for Wii remote and nunchuk action/racing play. Sega's forthcoming anime-license fighter Bleach sees a climb to number two, displacing EA's MySims to four, just ahead of some preliminary excitement for the next installment in the venerable Mario franchise. PlayStation 3 1. Folklore (Sony), 2. Heavenly Sword (Sony), 3. Conan (THQ), 4. Clive Barker's Jericho (Codemasters), 5. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Activision) THQ's forthcoming Conan and Clive Barker's Jericho team have upset the previous balance of PlayStation 3 charts, pushing previous charters Skate and Ratchet & Clank from the top five entirely. Sony's RPG Folklore continues its rise to the top of the charts. PlayStation 2 1. Thrillville: Off the Rails (LucasArts), 2. Tony Hawk's Proving Ground (Activision), 3. Spider-Man: Friend or Foe (Activision), 4. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Activision), 5. Jackass: The Game (Red Mile) Theme-park sim Thrillville has a rollercoaster climb to the top of this week's charts with Tony Hawk holding closely behind, pushing the Jackass crew down from last week's top slot to number 5, and pushing God of War II from the top five entirely. Nintendo DS 1. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (Nintendo), 2. Drawn to Life (THQ) 3.MySims (EA), 4. Jam Sessions (Ubisoft) , 5. Sonic Rush Adventure (Sega) 1. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (Nintendo), 2. Drawn to Life (THQ), 3. Bleach: The Blade of Fate (Sega), 4. MySims (EA), 5. Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day (Nintendo) Little has disturbed the Nintendo DS charts, with Sega's portable Bleach pushing MySims to four, Ubisoft's guitar-sim Jam Sessions falling from the top five, and Brain Age II making another appearance. PlayStation Portable 1. Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron (LucasArts), 2. Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow (Sony), 3. Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (Square Enix), 4. Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles (Konami), 5. Jackass: The Game (Red Mile) With its accompanying PSP Slim model now on the market, Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron followed by Logan's Shadow, pushing last week's topper Final Fantasy Tactics to number three. Upcoming remake Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles makes a new appearance at number four, pushing Jackass to number 5. Xbox 1. Halo 2 (Microsoft), 2. Halo (Microsoft), 3. Madden NFL '08 (EA) 4. Ninja Gaiden Black (Tecmo), 5. Family Guy - Video Game! (Take Two) No new appearances or upsets in the Xbox charts, as Family Guy and Ninja Gaiden swap respective positions, but maintain comfortably behind mainstays Halo and Madden NFL. GameCube 1. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo) 2. Super Smash Bros. Melee (Nintendo), 3. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Nintendo), 4. Mario Kart: Double Dash (Nintendo) 5. Super Mario Sunshine (Nintendo) 1. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo) 2. Mario Party 7 (Nintendo), 3. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo), 4. Mario Kart: Double Dash (Nintendo) 5. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (Nintendo) The forthcoming release of Mario Galaxy seems to have spurred some back-catalog interest in the franchise, as Mario Party 7 and Paper Mario make appearances at number two and three, followed again by Double Dash, pushing Metroid Prime 2 to number five. Game Boy Advance 1. Pokemon: Emerald (Nintendo), 2. Pokemon: Fire Red (Nintendo), 3. Pokemon: Sapphire (Nintendo), 4. Pokemon: Ruby(Nintendo), 5. Super Mario Advance 4 (Nintendo). Finally, Pokemon continue their Krabby-like grip on the Game Boy Advance charts, with only minor movement between editions, though once again Mario peers into the top five charts with the portable version of the NES's Super Mario Bros. 3 landing at number five.
