Capcom's
Monster Hunter spinoff
Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Ailu Village remained on top of the Japanese retail game charts for a second week.
The title, which bears resemblance to Nintendo's
Animal Crossing and is inspired by the
Monster Hunter universe, sold 88,405 units for the week ended September 5, tracking firm Media Create announced Thursday.
Nintendo and Team Ninja's Wii action game
Metroid: Other M launched this week, and landed in the number three spot, selling 45,398 units.
The next entry in SCE's long-running PSP fighters,
Bleach: Heat the Soul 7, debuted at number five, with 25,374 units sold.
Although previously available in the region, Square Enix released a reprinted version of
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 this week, which hit number nine with 9,162 units sold.
Nintendo's
Wii Party once again saw strong sales, outselling the company's own
Metroid: Other M by more than 10,000 units.
Games that fell from the top 10 include Capcom's Sengoku Basara 3 and Idea Factory's
Hakuouki: Zuisouroku Portable.
