Mario Kart Stays Ahead Of Too Human In UK Charts
For the second week in a row the top four of the UK charts have remained unchanged, despite a raft of new entries including Too Human, a new The Sims 2 expansion and the best ever performance for a Tiger Woods PGA Tour game in the UK.
For the second week in a row the top four of the UK charts has remained unchanged, despite a raft of new entries and a return to school for the majority of the country’s children. Mario Kart Wii is the number on seller for the third week in a row, followed by Wii Fit, Wii Play and THQ’s Big Beach Sports. The highest new entry of the week, and the highest ranked game for a non-Nintendo format, is Silicon Knights’ Too Human on the Xbox 360. Despite mixed reviews, the game debuted at number five, one place ahead of PC expansion pack The Sims 2: Apartment Life. Sales of the three primary versions of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 were split almost evenly across each format, with 33 percent of the title’s sales on the Xbox 360 (new at number 10), 32 percent on the PlayStation 3 (at number 11) and 28 percent on the Wii (at number 12). The even distribution of sales across the three formats has obscured the fact that this was the best ever debut for the series as a whole in the UK, which for the first time went straight to the number one spot on the combined format charts. Overall there are 15 Wii titles in the top 40, with 11 on the Nintendo DS, seven on the Xbox 360, six on the PlayStation 3, one on the PC and zero on the PSP.
