Making History II Explores WWII-Era Economic Climate

Muzzy Lane Software announced the upcoming release of Making History II: The War of the World, a turn-based economic strategy title that allows players to shape history as either a defender of peace or as a conqueror of nations.
Muzzy Lane Software announced the newest entry in its Making History turn-based strategy series, Making History II: The War of the World. Making History II will put players in the role of a national leader during the period of time leading up to World War II, and will allow gamers to shape history as either a defender of peace or as a conqueror of nations. Making History II is developed in partnership with noted economic historian Niall Ferguson, who will help to ensure the game's political accuracy. In-game events will unfold based largely on worldwide shifts in economic strength and military power. "Economic instability is one of the primary reasons a nation can turn to an extreme ideology. That’s exactly what happened in the 1930s," said Ferguson. "And of course economic resources were decisive in the outcome of the war. By giving equal measure to economic as well as military components, Making History II presents a more complete model of the driving forces behind WWII." In Making History II, players will choose to rule any one of the world's nations. During the course of gameplay, users will make diplomatic decisions, oversee the construction of cities, and maintain regional military forces. Optimal strategic approaches will vary depending on the chosen nation, and players must use a mix of economic and military strategies to succeed. Making History II will be released in the fall of 2009. Future content expansions and updates will be available at the Making History Gaming Headquarters website.
