This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending January 26, highlight the popularity surrounding video game titles that have been already released, as well as those that are yet to debut.
Unsurprisingly, Capcom's action shooter
Lost Planet continued its icy grip on the top spot for rental requests across all platforms, followed by Microsoft's upcoming matured themed sandbox title,
Crackdown. Eidos'
Battlestations: Midway rounded out the top three requests on the all platform chart for the week, while all three titles also made up the top three Xbox 360 requests for the week as well.
Wii requests for the week were again topped by Nintendo's micro-game collection
Wario Ware: Smooth Mooves, followed by Atlus'
Trauma Center: Second Opinion and the upcoming eighth installment in Nintendo's
Mario Party franchise. Looking to the PlayStation 3, it was Sega's
Sonic the Hedgehog that took the bulk of requests for the week, followed by Activision's
Call of Duty 3 and Ubisoft's port of
Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII.
Stepping back a console generation, Sony's upcoming Level 5 developed action RPG
Rogue Galaxy proved to be the most popular title for the PlayStation 2, followed by
God of War II and Rockstar's schoolyard sandbox title
Bully. Activision's multiplatform
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance reigned as the most requested Xbox title for the week, while
Call of Duty 3 and
Scarface: The World Is Yours took the following two spots on the chart.
GameCube requests were again eclipsed by those for
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The second most requested GameCube title for the week was
Mario Party 7, followed by
Mario Kart: Double Dash. Game Boy Advance requests were topped by Square Enix's
Final Fantasy VI Advance, followed by
Final Fantasy V Advance and
Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap.
Nintendo's recently shipped adventure game
Hotel Dusk ranked as the most requested title for Nintendo's popular DS handheld, followed by kart racer
Diddy Kong Racing and Capcom's courtroom adventure
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All. Finally, switching to the PSP, Sony's action adventure
Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters took top honors for the week, followed by Konami's ever popular
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops and
Killzone: Liberation.
