Hitman creator Io Interactive is taking a family-friendly focus with the development of
Mini Ninjas, which casts a small hero on a quest against magical, evil Samurai.
Io Interactive was established by a partnership between 1997-founded Retro Moto and Nordisk Film, and was sold to Eidos in 2004.
Since then, the studio has created both
Hitman and
Kane and Lynch, and its founders re-formed the Retro Moto studio to focus on online games earlier in 2008.
Formerly being known for much more adult titles,
Mini Ninjas, the studio's newest project. It will be published by Eidos in Fall 2009 on Wii, DS, Xbox 360, Windows PC and PlayStation 3. According to official information, the game stars tiny ninja Hiro who, with the help of his friends, uses magic and special ninja techniques to stop a Samurai warlord.
