Halo Tops Guinness World Record's 50 Best Video Game Series

Guinness World Records revealed its reader-voted list of the "Top 50 Videogame Series" of all time, with Bungie's flagship franchise Halo taking the number one spot. The company, which tracks and recognizes record-breaking achievements, notes that the series is the "Best-Selling First-Person Shooter (FPS) Franchise Ever", too. More than 13,000 readers voted for the list in an online poll hosted on the company's Gamer's Edition website between January and August 2009. The list is featured in the Guinness World Records 2010 Gamer's Edition, a variant of the popular record-keeping reference book dedicated to achievements by video games and their players. Activision Blizzard's Call of Duty franchise and Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda series placed second and third on the list respectively.
