Realtime Worlds founder and original Grand Theft Auto creator David Jones will give a keynote on how to make a game successful at the UK's upcoming Develop Conference.
Original Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings creator David Jones has been announced as the 2009 Develop Conference’s first keynote speaker. The fourth annual Develop Conference is due to be held in Brighton, England on July 14th to 16th. It will also incorporate the new Evolve event, focusing on newer formats such as mobile devices, iPhone and Xbox Live Arcade. Jones was the founder of Scottish developer DMA Design, where he created the Grand Theft Auto franchise, as well as titles including Lemmings, Uniracers and Space Station Silicon Valley. Jones left the company before it was acquired by Take-Two Interactive and became Rockstar North. In 2002 he founded Crackdown and APB developer Realtime Worlds. The keynote address will focus on “how to make a game successful”, with Jones promising to release more details on massively multiplayer online game APB as the conference approaches.
