The latest issue of
Game Developer magazine, the sister print publication to Gamasutra.com, and the leading U.S. trade publication for the video game industry, has now shipped to subscribers.
The April 2005 issue features
Game Developer’s 4th Annual Salary Survey, presenting exclusively researched statistics outlining the pay structure of today's video game industry in North America, complete with extensive salary-related facts and figures for each of the disciplines.
This month's postmortem deals with Obsidian Entertainment's
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, discussing how the developers battled harsh deadlines to extend the first game into a new iteration, rather than merely regurgitating the original.
Other major features include 'Everything You Need to MMO', discussing how conventional game creators also have a lot to learn from the price, subscription, and digital download tactics of the massively multiplayer online game, as well as an interview with EA's Team Fusion, tasked with delivering six North American PSP launch titles, and revealing surprisingly candid opinions on surmounting development hurdles for the first generation of PSP games.
The magazine also contains the latest news in the Heads Up Display section, its regular code, graphics, audio, design, and business columns, and much more.
Worldwide subscriptions to
Game Developer magazine are
available via subscription at the
official magazine website. Newsstand copies are also available at North American outlets including Fry's Electronics and Barnes & Noble.
