Electronic Arts’ FIFA 07
soccer simulation continues to dominate the British video game sales charts this week, with Vivendi’s Scarface
movie tie-in failing to dislodge it, despite an impressive debut performance.
Likely to be a strong seller for the rest of the year, FIFA
’s greatest rival will be Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 6
(aka Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007
), released on October 27th on PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and PC.
In the meantime, the only new entry in the top ten is soccer management title Championship Manager 2007
at number nine, once the best selling PC series in the UK but now a much reduced force at retail following the departure of Sports Interactive from the franchise.
The highest new entry outside of the top ten is CGI movie tie-in Open Season
from Ubisoft at number seventeen, while Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe
has entered at number nineteen.
