Etrian Odyssey III, Pro Spirits Baseball Lead In Japan

The combined sales of three versions of Konami's Pro Baseball Spirits 2010 put the game at the top of Japanese weekly charts, while the Atlus DS RPG Etrian Odyssey III led on an individual basis.
After two weeks that saw two separate games debut with over 300,000 units sold each, Japanese weekly software charts have calmed down for the week ended April 4, with Atlus' Etrian Odyssey III leading with 88,000, Media Create reported Thursday. The prior week saw Koei's anime-licensed brawler Fist of the North Star: Warriors sell 415,000 units across Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The week before that, the PS3-exclusive Yakuza 4 from Sega sold 384,000 units in its debut. Both of those titles still managed to make the top 10 this recent week. Although Atlus' DS role-playing game Etrian Odyssey debuted at the top of the charts on an individual basis this week, the combined sales of Konami's Pro Baseball Spirits 2010 topped the charts, selling 129,000 units across PS3, PSP and PS2. One other new SKU landed in Media Create's top 10, Tecmo's Dead or Alive: Paradise for PSP. Games that fell out of the top 10 from the prior week include Sony's God of War III for PS3, the Xbox 360 version of Koei's Fist of the North Star: Warriors, Namco Bandai's PSP game Gundam: Assault Survive, Nintendo's Wii Fit Plus and Alchemist's PSP game Saki Portable. Below are Media Create's software sales for the week ended April 4.
