BioWare's Dragon Age: Origins has shipped more than 3.2 million units worldwide since its Fall 2009 release, publisher Electronic Arts announced today. "This is a tremendous start for the Dragon Age franchise and we are extremely pleased with the great reception the game has already received from critics and fans worldwide," says BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka -- who also now holds the title of group general manager of Electronic Arts' RPG/MMO Group. The studio's still working on building on the title's success, with the first expansion pack, Dragon Age Origins: - Awakening, slated to launch on March 16, 2010. Set following the events of Dragon Age: Origins, players are tasked with rebuilding the order of Gray Wardens and investigating the survival of the darkspawn after the death of the Archdemon. The studio promises "intriguing moral choices", and players will either be able to import their Dragon Age: Origins character or begin as a new Grey Warden from Orlais. "Our team is dedicated to crafting high quality, engaging new adventures and stories in the world of Ferelden for our fans," says Muzyka. EA yesterday confirmed a full sequel to Dragon Age was slated for early 2011.
