Top-Grossing iTunes Apps: Dead Space Storms iPhone and iPad Charts

Apple's latest U.S. App Store game charts by revenue see Dead Space and Tap Zoo earning top iPhone sales, while World of Goo and The Stroke of Midnight emerge as big sellers on the iPad.
Every week, sister iPhone and iPad site FingerGaming rounds up the top-grossing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store, and this chart is now available on Gamasutra. This week's U.S. revenue charts see Dead Space and Tap Zoo earning top iPhone and iPod Touch sales, while World of Goo and The Stroke of Midnight emerge as big sellers on the iPad. These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the Top 10 game sales chart, which is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing iPhone and iPod Touch titles are: 1. Angry Birds ($0.99) 2. Dead Space ($6.99) 3. Tap Zoo (Free) 4. Call of Duty: Zombies ($4.99) 5. Fruit Ninja ($0.99) 6. Zombie Farm (Free) 7. Doodle Defense ($0.99) 8. Live Poker (Free) 9. Texas Poker (Free) 10. Plants vs. Zombies ($2.99) EA's Dead Space climbs up to second place in the iPhone and iPod Touch's top-grossing games chart in its first day of release, rivaling Rovio's Angry Birds for the top spot. Call of Duty: Zombies and Fruit Ninja repeat their sales success for the second week in a row, while the free-to-play Zombie Farm and Tap Zoo remain popular favorites among App Store customers. Zynga's microtransaction-supported Live Poker and Pokerist's Texas Poker also emerge as top-grossing games in today's results, while Doodle Defense sees a slight drop in popularity after a promising debut last week. Here are this week's top-grossing iPad applications: 1. Angry Birds HD ($4.99) 2. Dead Space for iPad ($9.99) 3. Smurfs' Village (Free) 4. World of Goo ($4.99) 5. Scrabble for iPad ($9.99) 6. We Rule Quests for iPad (Free) Dead Space also premieres as a big seller on the iPad this week, overtaking Capcom's ever-popular Smurfs' Village in daily revenue. 2D Boy's World of Goo drops from second place to fourth in today's charts, as Scrabble for iPad and Fruit Ninja HD trail close behind.
