Top-Grossing iPhone, iPad Apps: Angry Birds Overtakes Iron Man 2

Apple's latest U.S. App Store game charts by revenue for its game-playing devices see Angry Birds leading over Gameloft's Iron Man 2 on iPhone, while Need for Speed Shift for iPad gets a sales boost.
Every week, sister iPhone site FingerGaming rounds up the top-grossing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store, and this chart is now available on Gamasutra. This week's U.S. revenue charts see Angry Birds leading over Gameloft's Iron Man 2, while Need for Speed Shift for iPad gets a sales boost. These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the Top 10 Games chart, which is ranked by sales, and therefore is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing iPhone titles are: 1. Angry Birds ($0.99) 2. Iron Man 2 ($6.99) 3. Tetris ($4.99) 4. Bejeweled 2 ($2.99) 5. Chaos Rings ($12.99) 6. Plants vs. Zombies ($2.99) 7. Stick Skater ($0.99) 8. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ($5.99) 9. Call of Duty: World at War Zombies ($9.99) Clickgamer's popular physics-based demolition title Angry Birds returns to the top of the App Store's sales chart this week, pushing last week's champion Iron Man 2 to second place. EA's Tetris climbs up to third after placing tenth last week, while PopCap's Bejeweled 2 rises to fourth place. Square Enix's Chaos Rings slips to fifth, as Traction Games' skateboarding sim Stick Skater makes its chart debut behind Plants vs. Zombies at seventh place. Here are this week’s top-grossing iPad applications: 1. Real Racing HD ($9.99) 2. Scrabble for iPad ($9.99) 3. Pinball HD ($2.99) 4. Plants vs. Zombies HD ($9.99) 5. X-Plane for iPad ($9.99) 6.
