Top-Grossing iPhone Apps: Plants vs. Zombies Leads Over Brothers in Arms 2

Apple's latest U.S. iPhone game charts by revenue see Gameloft's Brothers in Arms 2 against PopCap's reigning champion Plants vs. Zombies, as Monopoly returns to challenge Call of Duty.
Every week, sister iPhone site FingerGaming rounds up the top-grossing iPhone and iPod Touch applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store, and this chart is now available on Gamasutra. This week's U.S. iPhone revenue charts see Gameloft's Brothers in Arms 2 going up against PopCap's reigning chart champion Plants vs. Zombies, as Monopoly returns to challenge Call of Duty. This chart allows end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the top 10 games chart, which is ranked by sales, and therefore is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing U.S. App Store titles are: 1. Plants vs. Zombies ($2.99) 2. Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front ($7.99) 3. Call of Duty: World at War Zombies ($9.99) 4. Monopoly ($4.99) 5. Bejeweled 2 ($2.99) 6. Words With Friends ($2.99) 7. Rock Band ($6.99) 8. All-in-1 Gamebox ($0.99) 9. The Sims 3 ($6.99) 10. Tetris ($4.99) Gameloft's World War II shooter Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front captures second place in its debut week, finishing behind PopCap's reigning chart champion Plants vs. Zombies. Activision's Call of Duty: World at War Zombies settles for third place after taking second last week. EA's Monopoly returns to the top ten at fourth, as Words with Friends moves up from eighth place to finish sixth in today's rankings. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars and Doodle Jump disappear from the charts after remaining consistently popular in recent weeks. Triniti Interactive's 99-cent app compilation All-in-1 Gamebox is still going strong, however, and surpasses EA's The Sims 3 and Tetris in daily revenue.
