The deadline for submission to the International Mobile Gaming Awards, the Nvidia-sponsored awards for mobile phone games, has been set for Monday, October 31, 2005, according to the awards website. Both independent developers as well as companies are invited to submit their own games through an
online entry form, so long as the games are currently commercially unavailable.
The awards themselves, due to be announced in November 2005, will be broken into Grand Prix, Best Gameplay, Best Artwork, and Best Technical Achievement categories. Winners will receive a cash prize, Nokia smartphone, an Orange premium membership, and an awards certificate, with an additional European publishing contract and larger cash prize going to the Grand Prix winner.
"The market for mobile gaming is in its infancy, but as the technology develops, we believe the market's appetite for exceptional content will as well," said David Roman, vice president of corporate marketing at Nvidia.
