Developers have until Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11:59pm PT to send in their one-of-a-kind game peripherals, contraptions, and novelties that enhance game experiences, challenge our expectations, encourage sustainability, and improve accessibility for gamers and the industry at large. If you're looking for inspiration, head here for our archive of previous exhibitors.

The 8th annual alt.ctrl.GDC, co-helmed by veteran indie curator John Polson, showcases some of the most unique, offbeat, and innovative controllers in modern gaming. Visitors can come into this collaborative community space to play video games using alternative controllers—and meet the developers behind these interesting projects.

We're also thrilled to unveil the first-ever Audience Award for alt.ctrl.GDC at GDC 2022! On-site attendees will have the chance to vote for their favorite exhibit. Voting will be open while the exhibit is ongoing with winners announced after the exhibit has closed. The winning alt.ctrl.GDC exhibiting game will receive 2 All Access (or equivalent) passes to GDC 2023!

Game Developers Conference is committed to health and safety at GDC 2022, including for alt.ctrl.GDC. The event will be organized in accordance with the Informa AllSecure health and safety standards. GDC will feature fixed hand sanitization units throughout the facility, contactless registration, enhanced cleaning, and more. GDC works in conjunction with state, local, and Moscone Convention Center health regulations and will adhere to all regulations and guidelines at the time of the event.

The alt.ctrl.GDC showcase takes place March 23 to March 25, 2022, during the final three days of GDC 2022 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco—and entrants have until Friday, December 3, 2021 to apply.
