The conference will take place at the University of Perugia in Umbria, Italy from April 15-18, 2007. Web-based 3D games are having an increasing social and economic impact. Since this field is covering large areas of computer science research, it has gained growing interest from the scientific community as well. The workshop aims at involving researchers, developers, and stakeholders in order to provide a forum fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and cooperation between academia and industry by pinpointing and discussing state of the art and future technologies, theories, tools and scenarios of use, that are related to Web 3D games. Both research and applications papers are of interest to the workshop. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: o Content and character modeling o Character design o Tools, platforms and systems for games and Virtual reality o Advanced user interaction (hw and sw) o Graphics, rendering and visualization (level of detail, textures, lighting, etc.) o 3D sound o Tools and methods for web-game design (e.g. supporting architectures, quality of service, scalability, etc.) o Tools and metrics for game design evaluation o Artificial Intelligence techniques o Interactive narratives o Intelligent agents and gamebots o Multi-user management o Distributed gaming architectures o Mobile and pervasive gaming o Virtual Collaborative Worlds o Games modding o User studies o Social and human aspects of games o Game applications and typologies Authors are invited to submit their work, due March 16, 2007, for review by the international Program Committee. The papers (3-page short paper, 6-page full paper) must be innovative and contribute to the advancement of technologies for web-3D games. The main criteria for the review process will be: originality, technical quality, clarity of presentation, and in its relevance to the field. Accepted papers will appear in the Workshop Proceedings.
