Ubisoft is apparently sticking with the sports genre: the publisher has today announced two new athletic titles, Shaun White Skateboarding and Pure Futbol. Shaun White Skateboarding will mark the first title in the franchise based on the Olympic snowboarder that is based on skateboards. The company hasn't confirmed platforms and dates, but consumer site VG247 reoports Pure Futbol, to be developed by the company's Vancouver studio, will be available in May 2010. According to the report, Pure Futbol's aim is to highlight the "intense, physical and spectacular aspects of the sport" -- not merely "the feeling of watching a TV broadcast". The game will include 230 soccer players, 17 international teams, and 17 "legendary players". Users can also create custom athletes with which to progress through the game's campaign mode leading up to the final tournament. Ubisoft Montreal will develop Shaun White Skateboarding, and the report anticipates it will hit holiday 2010. "I can’t describe how excited I am about the skateboard game," says White. "We’ve been working on it for a while now and it’s ready to melt minds." Last April, Ubisoft was so pleased with the performance of its Shaun White snowboarding title -- particularly on the Wii platform -- that it promised fans could "expect more Shaun White" in the year to follow.
