SN Systems announced a new solution which enables fast downloads of artwork and test builds to Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.'s Development Tool DTL-H10000. ProView for PlayStation 2 uses the native i.LINK (IEEE1394) interface to allow games artists and testers to rapidly download artwork and test builds from a development PC to a SCEI DTL-H10000. ProView for PlayStation 2 enables game artists and testers to preview their PlayStation 2 artwork and run test builds without requiring access to the SCEI Development Tool DTL-T10000 used by programmers. Using a Development Tool DTL-H10000, an artist or tester can perform an ultra-fast download of code from their development PC whenever they need to and without tying up the Development Tool DTL-T10000. ProView allows a full download capability, using up all of the Development Tool DTL-H10000's memory, rather than having the inconvenience of modifying the build to allow for non-game code loaded in low memory, as in alternative solutions. ProView uses the native PlayStation 2 i.LINK interface to achieve an extremely fast transport medium between the host PC and the Development Tool DTL-H10000, much faster than any competing USB-Ethernet solution. The product consists of ProDG Target Manager v 2.3 (with Development Tool DTL-H10000 support) and a Development Tool DTL-H10000 boot CD or archive.
