Alias|Wavefront is joining in the Mac OS X product announcements with the Q2 2001 planned release of its Maya Complete 3 software. Alias|Wavefront says that Maya, its leading 3D animation and effects package, is the largest, most technically sophisticated program to be built for the Mac OS X. The Mac version of Maya 3 will be entering the beta phase of its development within the next 30 days. Alias|Wavefront is giving demonstrations of Maya 3 for Mac OS X at Macworld in San Francisco, January 9-12. Maya Complete 3 for Mac OS X will become available in Q2, 2001 for $7,500, the same price as Maya 3 for the IRIX and Windows NT, Windows 2000 Professional platforms. The core features of the Mac OS X version of Maya will be the same as those in Maya for other platforms.
