Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
Following last week's appointment of Marc Metis, today Acclaim announced further changes to its senior management team.
The appointments add five new faces, all from outside the company, to executive-level posts:
Leonard Ciciretto was named the Senior Vice President of Sales. Ciciretto will be responsible for overseeing the sales, distribution and direct marketing of the company's games, strategy guides and affiliated publishing. He was formerly the Group Vice President of Sales for Sega of America, and President of Versus Books, which published game strategy guides. Ciciretto reports to Edmond Sanctis, Acclaim's President.
Robert Nashak was named the Vice President of Product Development, where he will oversee the management of products developed in the company's "Sports" and "Club Acclaim" lines, working with internal and third-party development teams. He was formerly an Executive Producer with Vivendi Universal Interactive. He reports to Marc Metis, the company's recently appointed Senior Vice President of Brand.
Greg Goldstein was named the Vice President of Licensing, a role responsible for initiating and maintaining licensing agreements, creating strategic alliances and leveraging cross-promotional events and activities. He comes from Activision, where he was the Vice President of Licensing and Brand Development. He reports to Sanctis.
David Knies has taken the role of Director of Acclaim Sports, where he will oversee all aspects of the "Acclaim Sports" brand. Prior to joining Acclaim, Knies held a variety of global product and marketing positions with Reebok, Adidas and Groove Networks. He reports to Metis.
Edward Slezak was named the Vice President and Corporate Counsel, and he will be responsible for corporate regulatory compliance, SEC compliance and reporting and general corporate matters. He will report to Greg Fischbach, Acclaim's CEO. Prior to joining Acclaim, Slezak was a senior Associate with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, public and private equity and debt offerings and capital market transactions.
