The Virtual Reality Foundation has announced the nominees for the third annual Proto Awards show, which looks to honor those VR devs driving the young medium forward.
The recipient of the first-ever Proto Award was the independent studio Skillman & Hackett, for the earliest version of virtual paint studio, Tilt Brush, which is back in the running this year after the studio was acquired by Google.
Other nominees include Crytek's mountaineering sim, The Climb, Survios' sci-fi combat effort, Raw Data, Three Zero One's immersive sci-fi narrative, Adrift, and Owlchemy Labs' comedic career sim, Job Simulator.
We've posted a select list of nominees below. For the full rundown head on over on the Proto Award website.
The event itself will take place on Saturday, October 8, at Avalon Hollywood, and will be captured in live-action 360-degree VR.
