The Game Factory To Bring Rubik’s World To Wii, DS

Publisher The Game Factory has announced a licensing agreement with Seven Towns Limited to release Rubik’s World, a 3D puzzle game inspired by the Rubik’s Cube puzzle toy, for the Nintendo Wii and DS.
Denmark-based international publisher The Game Factory has signed a licensing agreement with toy and game designer Seven Towns Limited to adapt the Rubik’s Cube into a 3D puzzle game for the Nintendo Wii and DS titled Rubik’s World. Children aged eight and older will be able to “step inside the cube” with a collection of addictive but easy-to-play puzzle games which increase in difficulty as they progress in Rubik’s World. Some of the activities players can jump into include constructing 3D shapes and objects, navigating through mazes, and creating their own soundtracks. The two versions will each have their own unique games and features, with the DS release of Rubik’s World supporting online play, and the Wii game accommodating up to 4 players and providing an online message board. “The Rubik’s Cube is one of the most well known icons in the gaming and entertainment industry,” said Henrik Mathiasen, president of the Game Factory. “We’re honored that Seven Towns Limited has chosen us to take the Rubik’s experience to the next level with Rubik’s World. We feel confident that we have created a concept for the whole family that is innovative, challenging, and addictive, offering a new twist in the puzzle genre while keeping the Rubik’s Cube core values alive.”
