Teams of students in Ireland will pay tribute to Namco's classic arcade game
Pac-Man at tomorrow's Games Fleadh programming festival with a collection of remakes and inspired works.
Each contestant participating in the challenge received access to a sample level of
Pac-Man coded using Microsoft's XNA Game Studio. Students then created their own experiences based off of the sample code.
Games industry professionals will judge the student creations at a special Games Fleadh event. Other competitions slated for the festival include the XNA Ireland Challenge Colleges and Schools Cup, Robocode Ireland, SchoolBots Challenge, and a selection of skill-based tournaments.
Games Fleadh is the largest computer and console games programming festival in Ireland, and serves as a yearly event highlighting student creativity and programming skill. Games Fleadh will be attended by representatives from Microsoft Game Studios, PopCap Games International, DemonWare and Jolt Online.
This year's Games Fleadh event will be held on March 10th and 11th at Tipperary Institute in Thurles, Clonmel.
