According to reports on Sony Japan's website, Sony has debuted its PlayStation Spot service with its first location in Tokyo's Ginza district. The kiosk allows PlayStation Portable owners to use the system's wi-fi Game Sharing capabilities to download game demos from the special server. The first such PlayStation Spot has been installed at the Sony Building and will be in operation on October 8th. Initial games available for trial play on the PlayStation Spot are Job Hell 2000, Piposaru Academia 2, and Loco Roco, all from Sony of Japan. Third-party offerings at the first PlayStation Spot are Portable Resort from Namco and Rockman Rockman from Capcom. The system must be upgraded to the newly released version 2.0 firmware in order to download the demos. Sony introduced its own download system for the first time during the 2005 Tokyo Game Show, where it saw heavy use due to the high attendance and public visitors. Sony is currently planning to introduce more PlayStation Spots, but has said nothing about where they might be located yet. The game demo download service is similar to that used by Nintendo for game demos and other downloadable bonuses on its Nintendo DS, which also features wireless connectivity, most recently allowing limited versions of Polarium, Meteos, and Band Brothers to be playable at this year's E3 Expo.
