responDESIGN, the publisher of exergame Yourself!Fitness
, has announced a promotional partnership with US McDonald's restaurants, in which four exclusive Yourself!Fitness DVDs will be available nationwide (April 25 - May 22, 2006) at McDonald's with the introduction of the new Go Active! Happy Meal for Adults.
Similar to the retail version of Yourself!Fitness
for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC, but essentially a multi-choice non-interactive version of the game workout, the DVDs will allow users to customize their workouts by selecting difficulty levels and incorporating exercise equipment. The DVDs will be offered in both English and Spanish.
The DVDs will feature Maya, the Yourself!Fitness virtual personal trainer, and offer fifteen-minute workouts. Each will focus on a specific program: Yoga, for relaxation and rejuvenation; Cardio, for burning calories and boosting metabolism; Core, for strengthening the abs and spine; and Strength, for toning and tightening.
"It is our hope that customers collect all four DVDs to benefit from a complete workout program. McDonald's believes that the partnership with responDESIGN is in direct alignment with our commitment to encouraging food-energy balance that began with the introduction of our first Go Active! Happy Meal for Adults in 2003," said Bill Lamar, Chief Marketing Officer, McDonald's USA.
"responDESIGN was founded to deliver the best in health and fitness guidance to everyone through the Yourself!Fitness virtual personal trainer, Maya. The partnership with McDonald's is a giant step in this direction," said Phin Barnes, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, responDESIGN.
