NYU Game Center Appoints Jesper Juul as Visiting Professor

The Game Center at New York University announced that Danish games studies scholar Jesper Juul will be joining the faculty as a visiting assistant arts professor on August 1st.
The Game Center at New York University announced that Danish games studies scholar Jesper Juul will be joining the faculty as a visiting assistant arts professor on August 1st. A lecturer and researcher at the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab, Juul will teach an introduction to video games course at NYU. Juul will also assist in a leadership role at the Game Center, and will work with staff to design curriculum, plan facilities, and locate new faculty members. NYU's Game Center, housed in the university's Skirball Center for New Media at the Tisch School of the Arts, is a multi-school facility focused on the research, design, and development of video games. Juul has previously taught at the IT University of Copenhagen and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has authored the books Casual Revolution: Reinventing Video Games and Their Players and Half Real: Video Games Between Real Rules and Fictional Worlds.
