SouthPeak Games has announced the upcoming release of Music, an educational title for the Nintendo DS that focuses on music theory and composition. Previously released in the UK by developer Nobilis, Music includes a number of interactive lessons designed by Japanese music teacher Shiro Tsuji, author of "Anybody Can Read Music." Music challenges players with music-themed minigames and quizzes. The game includes 18 music theory lessons, a collection of 65 classic compositions, a glossary of more than 400 musical terms, and a gameplay mode in which players can create, save, and play back their own musical creations. "Music shows off the capabilities of Nintendo DS well beyond a gaming system. It transforms concepts that have been traditionally difficult into a format everyone can understand," said SouthPeak's vice president of marketing, Richard Iggo. "It's amazing to see someone start out learning the basics and end up creating their own compositions." Music is set for release in the fall of this year.
