Newsbrief: Majesco's indie publishing label Midnight City announced today that it plans to publish Double Fine's
Costume Quest 2 and a console version of The Fullbright Company's
Gone Home later this year.
Double Fine -- who released the original
Costume Quest in October of 2010 -- acquired the rights to
Costume Quest late last year from Nordic Games, who had itself acquired them from original publisher THQ when the company
entered bankruptcy in early 2013. The studio plans to release
Costume Quest 2 in time to coincide with Halloween in 2014.
Midnight City plans to publish the console version of
Gone Home this fall, but has yet provided no details on which machines it will be ported to. Gamasutra has reached out to the company for further comment.
The publishing label, which was
launched by Majesco last August with the stated goal of supporting indie developers launching games on digital platforms, is now responsible for 15 titles, including games like
Videoball and
Double Dragon: Neon.
