The Media Development Authority of Singapore has announced plans to invest $6 million into the development of serious game applications into the year 2012.

According to a report at The Straits Times, the Media Development Authority (MDA) of Singapore plans to invest $6 million into the development of serious game applications. The MDA's funding will support 24 game projects, as chosen from a pool of applicants. The MDA will continue to fund these projects into 2012. The Media Development Authority also announced plans to establish a development center in Singapore to aid developers in the creation of serious games. The studio will collaborate with local and international businesses to acquire necessary hardware and staff for training courses. The MDA will issue a call for serious game concept proposals on October 23rd.
