Educational software developer Knowledge Adventure announced a partnership with publisher Majesco to release Math Blaster In The Prime Adventure for the Nintendo DS. The Math Blaster title, which will be available this holiday season, marks the studio's first entry into the Nintendo DS and another step the company has taken towards extending its product line beyond traditional educational software releases. Knowledge Adventure recently launched JumpStart Advanced Preschool World, a 3D virtual world targeting 3-to-5 year olds with a planned, subscription-based online component. The company picked up $5 million in Series B funding in August 2008, which will go towards creating and supporting a new team that will develop and produce JumpStart Advanced Preschool World's online environment. Knowledge Adventure president and CEO David Lord has previously expressed interest in further extending its brands to additional platforms, such as Wii and iPhone. "This partnership is part of our strategic vision to transition the company from educational software to a multi-faceted kid’s entertainment company," says Lord. "Expanding our product footprint into this new category will enable us to create a market for future products—including our leading JumpStart brand—on console and handheld platforms and capitalize on the increasing popularity of these platforms."
